Mountain bike trails Brisbane, Queensland
Brisbane’s MTB trails have been built over the last 20 years. With local councils putting a lot of support behind the track building. Some trails like Sugar Bag MTB tracks on the Sunshine Coast started with just one person who wanted to ride trails on his time off, so he started to build. Now Sugar Bag MTB facility is one of the best. Many Mountain bike parks are now getting dedicated facilities like parking areas, pump tracks and skills parks. This is bringing other facilities like picnic tables, coffee shops and toilet facilities.
Queensland hosted the Commonwealth games in 2018 also lifting the mountain bike scene. With the games being held at Nerang on the Gold Coast. Looking forward to the Olympics in 2032 where the Mountain biking will be held at Sugar Bag in Caloundra West, Sunshine Coast and up the road at Parklands conservation reserve, this will be a great facility which is all expecting upgrades.
The great part about Brisbane’s MTB trails is that they are in the suburbs, where there are massive expanses of forest in Brisbane suburbs so the maximum you will need to drive to find a track from nearly anywhere is 20-30 min. So, get the riding gear out and explore some, or all these great facilities. They are mostly free and a great way to explore the outdoors.
